Alice M. Ruggles, 77, of Montgomery, IL formerly of Sandwich and Millington passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home. She was born April 13, 1932 in White Rock, SD, the daughter of Ward Everet and Gladys Doris (Moats) Barchus. Alice married Walter E. Ruggles on October 23, 1961 in Stuttgart, Germany.
She was formerly a Trustee and later Mayor of Millington. She was formerly a teacher in Germany, Minnesota and Colorado.
She is survived by one daughter, Laura (Phillip) Hilliard of Montgomery, IL; two sons, David (Pamela) Ruggles of Oswego, IL and Kenneth (JoAnna) Ruggles of Sandwich, IL; and seven grandchildren, Amanda McGee, Stephanie McGee, John Hilliard, Ben Ruggles, Brandon Ruggles, Carolynne Hilliard and Skylar Ruggles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Walter in 1994.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich. Private Funeral Services will be held.
