Francis B. "Fritz" Werner - 88

Turner-Eighner Funeral Home-Somonauk - Francis B. “Fritz” Werner, 88, of rural Leland, IL passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born December 3, 1921 in Oconee, IL the son of Frank and Anna (Blume) Werner. He married Helen M. (Sherman) LaBoube on February 18, 1950 in Somonauk, IL. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk. Francis was veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WW II. Fritz was a life long resident of the area, where he farmed and worked a dairy herd. Later on he went back to being a carpenter until his retirement.

He is survived by one daughter Patricia Werner of Leland, IL; two sons, William Werner of Leland, IL and Michael Werner of Sheridan, IL; two grandchildren, Kyle and Hannah Werner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen; one step-son Henry; four sisters, Josephine Wessels, Louanna Wessels, Catherine Eck and Roberta; six brothers, Henry, Martin, August, Harold, Robert and Clarence Werner.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL with Father Thomas Brantman officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery rural Somonauk, IL. Pat, Bill, & Mike, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I am so sorry I could not attend his wake. I truly enjoyed helping to care for Fritz. I enjoyed his many stories of his past. He was a very intelligent human being. His smile was priceless, even though it would take me ahwile to get one from him. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family in these up comming times. Thank you for letting us to get to know Fritz. He was well liked at sandwich rehab and health care center.
