Betty Jane Edgcomb, 88, of Peru, IL formerly of Earlville, IL passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Peru, IL. She was born November 13, 1921 in LaSalle, IL the daughter of John and Anna (Batty) Snell. She married Arthur Edgcomb on January 10, 1945 in Lowell, IL. Betty was a member of Earlville United Presbyterian Church and was active in the Mariners at church. Betty and her husband Arthur farmed south of Earlville from 1955 to 1980.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen (Karin) Edgcomb of Normal, IL and Philip (Jennifer) Edgcomb of Serena, IL; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Melissa, Adam, Kimberly, and Jordan; five great grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Juanita) Snell of Deer Park, Ottawa, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur in 1980; one grandchild, Leslie Elizabeth Edgcomb and two brothers, Joe and Eugene Snell.

Funeral services will be 12:00, noon, Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Earlville United Presbyterian Church in Earlville, Illinois with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Utica, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 19th at the church until time of service at noon. Memorials may be directed to Earlville United Presbyterian Church.
