Richard J. Kossak, 21, of Somonauk, IL passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born February 9, 1988 in Downers Grove, IL the son of Richard and Cheri Kossak. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was attending DePaul University in Chicago. Richard helped create and was the art lead for the video game Devil’s Tuning Fork with the DePaul Game Elites. It won the honor of the top ten video game award at the Independent Games Festival.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Cheri; two brothers, Justin (Laura) Kossak and Stephen Kossak, all of Somonauk; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Arline Kossak; his beloved dog Penny.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Dennis Heaney officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
