Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home Earlville - Peter A. “Pete” Sondgeroth, 67, of Plano, IL formerly of Earlville, IL passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL, after a brief struggle with cancer. He was born October 12, 1942 in Amboy, IL the son of Frank and Rose (Andrew) Sondgeroth. He married Patsy Harrison on July 4, 1969 in Rock Falls, IL. He was a former member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Earlville, IL, and presently attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plano, IL. Peter was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife Patsy of Plano, IL; three daughters, Jodi Doughty of Mendota, IL, Amy (Samuel) Harper of Mendota, IL and Lori (Scott) Karstens of Chenoa, IL; nine grandchildren; five brothers, Keith of Arizona, Robert of El Paso, IL, John of New York, Michael of Arizona and Steve of Texas; two sisters, Joan (Mike) Lauer of Mendota, IL and Karen (Jerry) Rabbitt of Urbana, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Joseph in infancy.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Earlville, IL with Rev. Andy Davy M.I.C. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Earlville, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday April 6, 2010 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL.
