Richard T. Bigott, 79, of Earlville, IL formerly of Downer’s Grove, IL passed away, Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Pleasant View Luther Home in Ottawa.

He was born May 28, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the son of George and Helen (Osowski) Bigott. He married Gladys C. Spevak on October 23, 1954 in Downer’s Grove. He retired as Command Sergeant Major with 25 years of service in the Unites States Army. He was formerly employed by ADT Security Systems in Chicago, IL. Richard enjoyed gardening, golfing and camping. He and Gladys camped for over 20 years at Mallard Bend.

He is survived by his wife Gladys; five sons, Thomas (Rosa) Bigott of Keymar, MD, Jeffrey (Sue) Bigott of Apple Valley, MN, John (Ann) Bigott of Silver Springs, MD, Timothy Bigott of Apple Valley, MN and Daniel (Melissa) Bigott of Earlville, IL; 23 grandchildren; two great grandchildren pending arrival; one sister-in-law, Liz Danhelka and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerome Bigott and one sister, Dolores Domagata.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday May 3, 2010 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Fr. Donald DeSalvo officiating. Burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the funeral home.
