I'm just heart broken to hear of Gordon's passing. As kids we had so much fun when Gordon and his family would visit Southern Illinois every summer to see our grandparents. Nothing is better than wonderful food and fun shared with family.

Growing up in Lisle, our little circle of friends was my universe, and Gordon was the sun that our universe revolved around. All of my memories are of hanging out with Gordon, whether in his basement, in the woods across the street, behind the 7-11, at the Smiths or the Atheys... Gordon was always there. He was my closest guy friend all through high school. I can't believe he was taken from us at such a young age. My heart is breaking. He was always so incredibly considerate and gentle, and a really devoted friend to all of us. I vividly remember ice skating with him on a frozen puddle in the bowling alley parking lot; that was such a fun day. And the New Year's Eve parties! OMG! :) He will be sorely missed, but he will always be remembered, and I will cherish those memories forever.

Dear Sue, Tanna, Glen (Ed), Greg, Garett, Arlene and Anna, I am so sorry to hear about Gordon and of all of your loss. I hope you all choose to remember Gordon when he was healthy and vibrant and slowly leave the last few months to fade. The next year will be tough as you go through all the "firsts" without him at your side. Please surround yourselves with people who love you and help you by talking about Gordon when you feel the need. Be aware that a song, a food, a scent or a phrase you hear will trigger the memory of your loss and you'll blindsided by grief. Please have someone to call at these moments to help you talk it through. Slowly all those triggers will become happy times instead and your love will not create pain. I wish for your heavy heart to heal quickly and for your journey to be swift. I love you all and miss you. Please know that I think of you often. You have my deepest sympathy, Your cousin, Terri

Sue, We are so sad to hear the news of Gordon's passing. I can't imagine how you and his family must be feeling right now. You two always had such a strong bond, I don't even think I knew you before Gordon was in your life. I have been reading the guestbook entries and it seems as though you are surrounded by people who love you. I hope you get this as I do not have an address or number for you. We are going to be in town the 26th of this month and would love to see you. Dawn has my number. I have been praying for you and the family. I wish there was something I could say to ease your pain but as you know, there is not. Try to find a little joy in each day. Let people help you and most of all trust in the Lord, always. Fran

Hello Sue and the Simpson family: I hadn't been close with Gordon in years, but I still remembered him well and he was a good guy! I went to Meadows school with him. He and Larry Lolar were the first tow people I got to know there when I first started going there. I hadn't heard of his passing until I was on this site reviewing the times for another friends Mother's passing(Mrs. Zaborac) and noticed Gordon's site. He will be missed and I deeply sorry for your loss. He was a funny guy and I remember having fun getting in trouble with him and Larry. I saw Gordon a few time shortly after high school and he seemed to be doing well! I hope you can find peace through this and that so many remembered him with fond memories and good times!
