Frances was always so kind. She prepared my wedding flowers, funeral flowers for the family over the years with such care and patience. That trait served her well as a resident of Willowcrest. I saw her and spoke to her there several times. She couldn't see me well but knew me when I refreshed her memory. I'm glad to have seen her. She'll be missed.

When my mom was at Willow Crest a few years ago, Jack and I would so enjoy our visits with Frances and Elsie. Frances had such a great philosophy on life and often shared wonderful memories with us. I loved to just listen to her stories. She also was a neighbor to me while growing up, so I have known her most of my life. She was a good, kind person that loved her family and I know her spirit will live on in those she touched. Frances. well-done good an faithful servant. rest in peace.

Frances is and always has been a large part of my memories of my life in Sandwich. She and I had many great moments in her flower shop . . . and whenever we "disagreed" as to how a corsage or arrangement should be made, she would remind me that I was only born in 1924 . . . and by that time she was already well established! Great gal . . . good for Sandwich . . . and all of us. Alberta

My son and I had the opportunity to visit Frances after youth group just a few weeks ago.....what a blessing! Jamsion asked if he could shake her hand and said it would be an honor. Several times the youth group through the years would either sing or come and visit her. She was sharp and quick and always welcoming. I will always cherish those conversations I had with her. She was a great lady and will be missed. Nancy Brown, United Church Youth Director

Frances was one of those people who touch your life forever. The wonderful memories I have of her for 61 of my 66 years could never have happened if she hadn't been my Mom's oldest, longest, and dearest high school classmate, both graduating in 1924. Their last class reunion (just the two of them) was in 2005. Driving to and through Sandwich yesterday brought profound sorrow, a missing component. Services on a beautiful sunny day with so many paying their respects was heartwarming ... she couldn't have had a better or more meaningful farewell. I will miss her deeply.

I will always remember Mrs. Toombs kindness. She took care in helping me as a young man picking out my first flowers for my girlfriend. She knew just how to make a young man confident with the right flowers and the right words. She touched us all in Sandwich in so many ways. She will be remember for her caring heart.
