Mary E. Tyrrell - 81

Sandwich, IL - Mary E. Tyrrell, 81, of Sandwich, IL passed away, Thursday, July 15, 2010 at her home. She was born December 20, 1928 in Johnson County, Illinois, the daughter of Louie Mac and Zula Faye (Smith) Boner.

She married Ivan W. Tyrrell on October 7, 1945 in Grand Ridge, Illinois. She was employed by Parks Brothers as a cashier for 28 years until her retirement. She loved to garden, do crafts, travel and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Patti S. Johnson of Salem, MO and Peggy Ann (John) Rhodes - Antich of Montgomery, IL; one son, Arnold Lee (Kathy) Tyrrell of Polo, IL; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Pena of Sandwich, IL, and Faye Brown of Kankakee, IL; one brother, Cecil Wayne Smith of Warrenville, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son-in-law, James A. Rhodes; one grandson, Scott M. Tyrrell; five sisters, Betty Heck, MaeDeen Buttrum Kaiser, JoAnn Newell, Julie Boner and Dimple Goodwin and six brothers-in-law.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with Steve Tetrick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial may be directed to Sandwich District Library or Unity Hospice. Pat, Peggy and Arni -- I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was always so upbeat and we had so many good talks about the good ol' days. And there were a lot of them. I will miss her horribly. Bet your mom, dad, and my dad are having a great reunion about now!!! All my best to you. Jo Ann
