Eleanor was so many things to so many people. Her heart was so full of love, joy and giving. She touched our lives dearly as we feel blessed to be a part of hers. We will truly miss her warm personality and beautiful smile. She was a dear, dear friend to our family. Hopefully as all of us age, we can learn the art of giving to others through the great inspiration Eleanor taught all of us. This world was a better place because of her.

Eleanor was one of those special people who are more than just a neighbor. She greeted us with food our first day in the neighborhood 33 years ago, from there on she & Gib became our freinds, and the next best thing to being grandparents to us & our kids. So many years of waving back & forth through our Kitchen windows, to sharing our kids & family events, And even a couple of New Years Eves in these later years. We will miss her so deeply. Since her passing Bob & I have walked through the Kitchen looking for a light in her window forgetting it won't be there. We love you Eleanor, but I'm sure Gib is happier now to have you with him again.

Words really cannot describe what Eleanor meant to me. She really felt like a Grandmother to me. She was one of the most kindest persons I have ever met. Growing up next door to Eleanor, made it easy on a kid like me! She let me read books to her, play marbles in her kitchen, play card games that I created that made no sense (but she would play along anyway), and even let me do handstands in her living room to see if I could touch the ceiling fan. Yes, Eleanor was a very patient and loving woman. And who could forget that warm smile she had as she graciously wrapped a plate of cookies for me to take back home, to college, and even back to Arizona. Her thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. I was so blessed to have her a part of my life. It was a pleasure knowing such a great woman and she will be deeply missed.

It was like living next door to your grandma. That's what having Eleanor as a neighbor was like. She was always so kind, and patient. I remember so many things that she taught me - how to braid my hair (she would even do it for me when I had basketball games to go to), using a sewing machine, she even helped me learn cross stitch, even though she hadn't done it before (and I still do it to this day). She even gave me her prized kringle recipe, including her secret of which butter to use, which is now the highlight of my holiday cookie baking. She really was a wonderful person, and we were all lucky to have had her in our lives.

Eleanor was also like a grandmother to me. I remember her always welcoming us into her home, playing games with us, hugging us when we needed it, and feeding us her world famous chocolate chip cookies. In fact, I'm convinced that she was with me in spirit the day she passed away because before I found out what happened, I had an overwhelming desire to bake some homemade chocolate chip cookies from scratch (which I never do). She made our world so much better and brighter, and she will be truly missed. She was a wonderful lady who I know is now up in Heaven hiding that thimble from Gib.
